Every living being has the potential to be free from suffering and to develop limitless love and compassion for others. Working to help human beings fulfill this potential are the individuals, meditation groups, monasteries, retreat centers, publishing houses, businesses and members who are part of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition.

"Those whose minds are shaped by selfless thoughts give joy when they speak or act. Joy follows them like a shadow that never leaves them." - Shakyamuni Buddha -

Dagri Rinpoche was born in Tibet in 1958. He grew up there during the terrible Cultural Revolution, between 1966 – 1976. After his escape in 1982 he completed the study of Buddhist philosophy in 17 years and received the Geshe Lharampa degree. He was fortunate in that, as a high tulku, he was able to apply to take his geshe examinations two years earlier than other monks are able to do.

Rinpoche knows the difference between the life of a tulku in Tibet and that of a tulku in India.
His life story shows that a tulku who lives under difficult circumstances can still remain faithful to his ideal of serving others and being an example to them.

Never give up ...

No matter what is going on
Never give up
Develop the heart.
Too much energy in your country is spent
developing the mind instead of the heart.
Be compassionate, not just to your
friends, but to everyone.
Be compassionate.
Work for peace in your heart and in the world.
Work for peace.
And again I say, never give up.
No matter what is happening
No matter what is going on around you

Never give up.

- His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama -
